Scope

1.0.1 This specification is formulated to ensure that the spherical storage tanks are technically advanced, economically reasonable, safe and applicable, and to guarantee their quality during on-site assembly and welding construction. 1.0.2 This specification applies to the construction of steel-made welded spherical storage tanks supported by columns, with a design pressure greater than or equal to 0.1 MPa and not exceeding 4 MPa, and a nominal volume greater than or equal to 50 m3. This specification does not apply to the construction of the following spherical storage tanks: 1. Spherical storage tanks subject to nuclear radiation; 2. Non-fixed spherical storage tanks; 3. Spherical storage tanks with a double-layer structure; 4. Spherical storage tanks formed by expansion. 1.0.3 The engineering and technical documents and construction technical requirements in the contract documents used for the construction of spherical storage tanks shall not be lower than the provisions of this specification. 1.0.4 In addition to complying with this specification, the construction of spherical storage tanks shall also comply with the provisions of the relevant national standards currently in force.
