Scope

In order to clarify the seismic design categories and corresponding seismic design standards for construction projects, and to effectively reduce earthquake disasters, this standard is formulated. This standard applies to the seismic design classification of construction projects in seismic design zones. All construction projects in seismic design zones shall determine their seismic design categories. For newly built, renovated, or expanded construction projects, their seismic design categories shall not be lower than those stipulated in this standard. When formulating industry standards for the seismic design classification of construction projects, the division principles stipulated in this standard shall be observed. For construction projects with special requirements that are not listed in this standard, their seismic design classification shall be implemented in accordance with the specific provisions.
