Scope

This document specifies the groove section dimensions, effective diameter series, groove inspection, belt pulley material, surface roughness, and balance of the effective width narrow V-belt pulleys (9N, 9NX, 9J, 9JX, 15N, 15NX, 15J, 15JX, and 25N, 25J types).
This document's standard groove type is suitable for single and multi-strand narrow V-belts. The deep groove type belt pulley is not suitable for multi-strand V-belts and is mainly used for offset (twisted, misaligned) drives, such as 1/4-circumference drives or vertical shaft drives.
