Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, rootstock selection, garden construction standards, young tree management, fruit tree management, disease and pest prevention and control, and harvesting standards for Sanhong pomelos. This standard applies to the cultivation of Sanhong pomelos in Guangdong Province. Main technical content: Sanhong pomelos are a bud mutant variety of red-flesh pomelos originating from Pinghe County, Fujian Province. Under the condition of using special bags, their fruit peel turns light pink, and the spongy layer under the peel is pink, giving the fruit a rose-red color, hence the name "Sanhong". A rootstock refers to the plant that supports the scion in grafting reproduction. Sanhong pomelos prefer warm and humid environments and require sufficient fertilizer and water. Therefore, when establishing new pomelo orchards, it is advisable to select micro-acidic sandy loam or red soil with convenient transportation, sheltered from the wind and sun, sufficient water sources, a soil depth of more than 60 cm, an organic matter content of more than 1.5%, and no pollution in the surrounding area. The planting density should be 495 to 825 trees per hectare for flat land and 3 m × 4 m for mountainous areas. Before planting, dig pits with a length, width, and depth of 1 m each. After digging, expose the soil to the sun, mix 25 kg of weeds or rice straw, 25 kg of peanut meal, 25 kg of organic fertilizer, and 1 kg of phosphorus fertilizer with the soil, and apply them evenly into the pits. Finally, cover the surface with a layer of thin soil to form a round mound with a diameter of 80 cm and a height of 30 cm. It specifically stipulates the relevant standards for seedling breeding and planting, young tree management, fruit tree management, disease and pest prevention and control, and harvesting.
