The scope of elevators in this document includes box passenger elevators, box freight elevators, escalators, etc. It does not include elevator types such as construction elevators and special-use elevators with unique requirements. The scope of electrical control components for elevators in this document includes printed circuit boards containing electronic components and elevator frequency converters, which are applicable to the maintenance and repair of in-service elevators.
