Scope: This document specifies the basic requirements for the terminology and definitions of mugwort, harvesting time, collection methods, quality control, storage management, and warehouse management. This document is applicable to the harvesting and storage management of mugwort. 2. Normative Reference Documents: The content of the following documents is an integral part of this document through normative references. Among them, the dated reference documents are applicable to this document only for the version corresponding to that date; the undated reference documents are applicable to this document with their latest versions (including all amendment sheets). - SB/T 11095: Technical Specifications for the Storage of Traditional Chinese Medicinal Materials - Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China 3. Terminology and Definitions: The following terms and definitions apply to this document. - 3.1 Mugwort, also known as Artemisia or Artemisia annua, is a perennial herb. Its fresh leaves are edible, and the dried leaves are used to make mugwort moxa. - 3.2 Mugwort leaves are the dried leaves of Artemisia. 4. Harvesting 4.1 Harvesting Time: Mugwort is generally harvested 2-3 times per year. When the average height of mugwort reaches about 1m, it can be harvested in a timely manner. The first harvest period is around the Dragon Boat Festival, the second in mid-to-late August, and the last in mid-to-late October. 4.2 Harvesting Methods: - Whole plant harvesting method: Select a sunny day for timely harvesting, and dry the leaves in the sun, shade-dry, or low-temperature dry until the moisture content is less than 15%, then pack and store. - Fresh plant harvesting method: Use fresh mugwort leaves for extracting essential oils and other active substances. Harvest the leaves with stems, transport them to the processing site, cut them into sections, and then extract. - Dried leaf harvesting method: Cut the fresh mug
