Scope

Scope: This document specifies the environmental and technological requirements for the rearing and management of ultra-fine Alashan cashmere goats, including breed requirements, the creation of a suitable rearing environment, nutritional regulation, and rearing management. This document applies to the rearing and management of ultra-fine Alashan cashmere goats. Main technical content: 3. Terminology and definitions. The following terms and definitions apply to this document: - **Sheep farm section**: The direct living environment of cashmere goats. - **Building area**: The area within the fence or wall of a cashmere goat farm (playgrounds, pastures) and outside the sheep farm section. - **Sexual maturation**: The stage when reproductive functions reach maturity, with fully developed reproductive organs and normal reproductive capabilities. 4. Breed requirements: - The physical characteristics of the goats must conform to the characteristics of Alashan cashmere goats. - For breed selection and improvement, whether purebred selection or hybrid improvement, individuals with extremely fine wool should be selected, and efforts should be made to eliminate adult coarse-wooled breeding rams with a wool fiber diameter of over 16 μm. - It is recommended to introduce breeding rams and/or breeding ewes with extremely fine wool to selectively breed ultra-fine Alashan cashmere goats. - The breeding rams should be replaced once every three years. Close inbreeding should be avoided.
