Scope

This document provides guidance on the audit of management systems, including audit principles, audit program management, and the implementation of management system audits, as well as guidance on evaluating the competence of personnel involved in the audit process. These activities involve audit program managers, auditors, and audit teams. This document is applicable to all organizations that need to plan and implement internal audits of management systems, external audits, or manage audit programs. As long as special consideration is given to the specific competencies required, this document can also be applied to other types of audits.
