Scope

This document specifies the requirements for the system design of wave energy, tidal energy, and other water flow energy conversion devices (collectively referred to as marine energy conversion devices) to ensure their engineering integrity. The aim is to provide appropriate protection levels to prevent damage from all hazards that may cause serious failures in the structure, mechanical, electrical, or control systems of marine energy conversion devices. Figure 1 illustrates the scope of application of this document and the key interfaces between marine energy conversion devices and other elements.
