Scope
This document describes a method for assessing the risk of gluing based on Block's contact temperature concept, and provides a calculation formula.
This basic concept applies to all mechanical components with moving contact areas. The flash temperature calculation formula is suitable for strip-like or approximately strip-like Hertz contact areas and operating conditions characterized by a sufficiently high Péclet number.
