Main technical content: This standard is drafted in accordance with GB/T 1.1 and GB/T 18765-2015 "Requirements for the Application of Geographical Indication Product Standards" and "Requirements for the Application of Geographical Indication Product Standards" to protect the mountain ginseng of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County (referred to as wild mountain ginseng or forest-grown ginseng in the national standard, or as forest-grown ginseng in the 2015 edition of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China). This regulation is proposed by the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Ginseng Association. This regulation is coordinated by the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Agricultural and Rural Affairs Bureau. The responsible units for this regulation include the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Ginseng Association, the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Food and Drug Inspection and Testing Center, and the Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County Agricultural and Rural Development Service Center. The main drafters of this standard are Yu Shaocheng, Ji Hongli, Ren Fushan, Huang Chunying, Dong Xiqing, Li Shibin, Zhang Xuefeng, and Xing Lipeng. The protection scope of the geographical indication product "Kuandian Mountain Ginseng" is limited to the geographical indication product registered by the National Administration for Market Regulation—Kuandian Mountain Ginseng, which refers to the current administrative area of Kuandian Manchu Autonomous County in Dandong City, Liaoning Province, with a geographical location of latitude 40°13′ to 41°09′ and longitude 124°21′ to 125°43′. It has a natural shape, with a yellow-colored, slightly glossy skin that is firm and well-preserved. The rhizomes are arranged neatly and orderly, gradually decreasing in size. The rhizomes are slender, with a length of ≥3.5 cm. There are 1 to 2 lateral roots or none. The main root is a short horizontal body with a length of ≥2.5 cm, featuring fine and deep ring patterns.
