Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions, pre-sowing preparation, sowing, irrigation, and deep tillage for the spring sowing of rapeseed (green manure) in the Yinxiang irrigation area of Ningxia. This document is applicable to the Yinxiang irrigation area of Ningxia. Main technical content: 3. Terms and definitions The following terms and definitions are applicable to this document. Spring-sowing rapeseed (green manure) refers to sowing rapeseed in early March and plowing it in the middle and early May as a method of rapeseed cultivation for green manure. 4. Pre-sowing preparation 4.1 Variety selection Select rapeseed varieties registered by the state and suitable for cultivation in the Yinxiang irrigation area of Ningxia. 4.2 Seed treatment Soak the seeds in 20°C warm water for 10 minutes before sowing and then remove and dry them. 4.3 Tillage Focus on selecting fields where rice was planted in the current year. Conduct rotary tillage before the spring flood and till to a depth of about 10 cm to achieve a level and fragmented soil surface. 5. Sowing 5.1 Sowing period Sow in time when the soil temperature stabilizes above 5°C, usually in early March. 5.2 Sowing amount The sowing amount per 666.7 m2 is 1.0 kg to 1.2 kg. 5.3 Sowing method Use a wheat seeding machine or a hand-operated grass seed sowing machine to sow at a depth of 1 cm to 3 cm, and rake and level the soil promptly after sowing. 6. Irrigation Irrigate once in mid-to-late April, with an irrigation volume of 60 m3 to 90 m3 per 666.7 m2. The irrigation water quality shall comply with GB/T 5084. 7. Deep tillage 7.1 Time Deep till before planting the next crop, usually from the end of April to the beginning of May. 7.2 Method Adopt direct deep tillage (for plants with a height of less than 50 cm) or deep tillage after shredding (for plants with a height of more than 50 cm), with a depth of 15 cm to 25 cm.
