Scope

Main Technical Content: 6. Weaving Methods 6.1 Flat Weaving 6.1.1 Bottom Weaving - Secure willow strips on a flat surface as the base of the woven object. - Depending on the shape of the woven base, it can be circular or square. - Different thicknesses of willow strips are used in different areas, divided into different warp and weft directions. - The warp and weft strips are interwoven and overlapped to form various cross-weaving patterns. - Based on the overlapping and pressing relationship of the warp and weft strips, there are methods such as "one press, one pick" and "two presses, two picks". - During weaving, twist-weaving techniques are added. By taking advantage of the differences in the warp and weft directions, a circular or square shape can be achieved. - 6.1.3 Trimming the edge - Secure the edge with a twist or press method to create a neat and smooth edge. - 6.1.4 Closing the edge - Close the edge inward or outward as needed, and trim off excess strips with scissors. - 6.2 Standing Weaving - 6.2.1 Top Warp - A thick willow strip can be used as the warp, or several strips can be combined together. - 6.2.2 Bottom Weaving - For a circular base, several pieces of willow strips are arranged together to form a cross, then the warp is woven separately.
