Scope

This standard specifies the method for analyzing the activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in biological samples using high-purity germanium (HPGe) γ-spectrometers.
This standard is applicable to the measurement of the activity of gamma-emitting radionuclides in biological samples. In addition to sampling and sample preparation, the γ-spectrometry analysis method specified in this standard is also applicable to other non-biological samples. Other types of γ-spectrometers can be used for reference when implementing this standard.
