Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the terminology and definitions of mechanized planting techniques for mountainous orchards, suitable crops, site selection and planning, and ancillary facility construction requirements. This document applies to the construction of mountainous orchards using small-scale machinery. Main technical content: 1. Terminology and definitions: The following terms and definitions apply to this document. 1.1 Mountainous region: Land with an elevation of 500 m to 1200 m and a slope greater than 5°. 2. Suitable crops: Large-stemmed fruit trees such as lychee, loquat, longan, and mango. 3. Site selection and planning: 3.1 Site selection: In addition to meeting the requirements of GB 3095 and GB 15618, the site selection should be convenient for transportation, close to water sources, with a groundwater level of more than 2 m, deep soil layers, and a slope less than 35°. 3.2 Site planning: 3.2.1 Subzone planning: The orchard is divided into several subzones, each with an area of 15 to 45 mu. 3.2.2 Terrace planning: The terrace is designed as an egalized terrace with a slope of 2° to 3°. For terraces with a slope of 5° to 15°, the width should be 5 m to 6 m; for terraces with a slope of more than 15°, the width should be 4 m to 5 m. The terrace construction should be carried out from bottom to top. 3.2.3 Ancillary facility planning: Roads, drainage systems, guardhouses, water tanks, and cold storage facilities are designed according to the terrain and subzone planning. 4. Site construction: 4.1 Site clearing: Remove weeds and dig out tree roots for centralized disposal. Tree trunks and roots cannot be buried in planting trenches. Other branches, leaves, and weeds can be buried with topsoil in the planting trenches. 4.2 Planting trench excavation: First, place the topsoil on the upper side of the slope, and place the raw soil on the lower side of the slope.
