Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of mine-used audible and optical combination signalers. This standard applies to workplaces in coal mines that contain coal dust and explosive gases, where mine-used audible and optical combination signalers (hereinafter referred to as signalers) are used for carrier-based intercom communication or sending alarm (i.e., ringing) signals in different positions of the working face.
