JTG 1001-2017 Standard System for Highway Engineering

Scope

1.0.1 In order to enhance the scientificness and systematicness of highway engineering standards and meet the needs of highway construction, management, maintenance, and operation, this system is formulated. 1.0.2 This system is applicable to industry standards in the highway field. 1.0.3 The scope of the system includes technical, management, and service standards needed for the entire process of highway engineering from planning and construction to maintenance and management, as well as related evaluation standards for safety, environmental protection, and economy. 1.0.4 The development of the system adheres to the development concepts of innovation, coordination, greenness, openness, and sharing. It is based on the internal connections and laws of the development stage of highway transportation and reflects the needs of highway engineering development in a certain period. 1.0.5 The standards of the system are divided into mandatory standards and recommended standards. Those involving the protection of personal health and life and property safety, national security, ecological and environmental safety, and meeting the basic requirements of social and economic management are mandatory standards, while the rest are recommended standards. 1.0.6 The system structure fully considers various requirements, indicators, concepts, and interrelationships that need to be coordinated in highway construction, management, maintenance, and operation, and is continuously updated and improved with the development of science and technology. 1.0.7 The content of the system is coordinated and complementary with other standard systems in transportation.
