This document specifies the representation of Gregorian calendar dates and times based on the 24-hour system, as well as their combinations. This document applies to the representation of dates and times involved in information exchange, and also to the representation of time and time shift based on Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). This document does not apply to non-Gregorian calendar date representations or non-24-hour time representations. This document also does not provide character encodings for date and time representations.
