Scope

Scope: This document specifies the selection of sites for watermelon seedling production, nursery facilities, seed preparation, direct sowing, grafting, seedling management, vigorous seedlings, transportation and labeling, and nursery records. This standard applies to watermelon seedling production. Main technical content: 1. Terms and definitions: There are no terms or definitions that need to be defined in this document. 2. Site selection: The nursery site should comply with the provisions of NY/T 5010, with a flat terrain, convenient irrigation and drainage, and convenient transportation. The soil should meet the requirements of GB 15618, and the water quality should meet the requirements of GB 5084. 3. Nursery facilities: 3.1 Greenhouses and temperature control facilities: Use plastic greenhouses or greenhouses for nursery production. The greenhouse should be equipped with water supply and drainage facilities and lighting equipment. During winter and spring nursery, necessary heating and insulation facilities should be provided to ensure seedling growth. 3.2 Bed specifications: The bed length should not exceed 40.0 m, the width should not exceed 1.6 m, and the height should not exceed 0.8 m. The bed length and width can be slightly adjusted according to the ground conditions. The main structural materials of the bed should be hot-dipped zinc and aluminum alloy, and the bed surface materials should be wire mesh, tidal boards, or plastic nets, which should be selected according to local conditions. The bed should be equipped with water supply and drainage facilities. 4.
