This document specifies the safety of household surface cleaning appliances using liquid or steam as the medium.
This document applies to household cleaning appliances and wallpaper strippers with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V, which use liquid or steam as the medium for surface cleaning.
Note 1: The appliances may be equipped with electric heating elements or pressurized devices for liquid containers.
In practical terms, the common hazards associated with the appliances covered by this document are ones that all people in and around residential environments may encounter.
