GB 5009.236-2016 The national standard for food safety: Determination of moisture and volatile matter in animal and vegetable fats and oils
Abstract
This standard specifies two methods for determining the moisture and volatile matter content in animal and vegetable oils and fats.
The first method of this standard [sand bath (electric heating plate) method] is applicable to all animal and vegetable oils and fats; the second method (electric heating drying box method) is only applicable to non-dry oils with an acid value of less than 4 mg/g, and is not suitable for lauric acid-type oils (palm kernel oil and coconut oil).
