GB/T 18380.32-2008

The 31st, 32nd, 33rd, 34th, 35th, and 36th parts of GB/T 18380 specify a test method for evaluating the ability of vertically installed bundled electric wires, cables, or optical cables to suppress the vertical spread of flames under specified conditions. Note: In this part, the term "electric wires and cables" includes all metal conductor insulated cables used for energy or signal transmission. This test is used for type approval testing. The selection requirements for the test cables are described in Appendix A. The spread of flames is measured by the damage range of the cable samples. This test procedure can be used to verify the ability of cables to suppress the spread of flames. This part of GB/T 18380 applies to A F/R classes and is only suitable for power cables with a conductor cross-section greater than 35 mm 2. The cables are installed at intervals in front and behind the test steel ladder to ensure that the non-metallic materials contained in the samples account for 7 L/m of the total volume. The fire supply time is 40 minutes. This installation method is used for special cables required in special devices according to the cable specifications. A F/R classes are not used for ordinary cables. The recommended performance requirements are given in Appendix B.
