Abstract
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking and storage for construction winches (hereinafter referred to as "winches").
This standard applies to winches driven by electric motors used in construction and installation projects. Winches driven by other means can also be used as reference.
This standard also applies to winches used for vertical, horizontal, and inclined movement of loads.
