This document applies to industrial, scientific, and medical (hereinafter referred to as ISM) electrical equipment with an operating frequency within the range of 0 Hz to 400 GHz, as well as household and similar appliances designed for generating and/or locally using radio frequency energy.
This document covers the emission requirements for radio frequency interference in the frequency range of 9 kHz to 400 GHz.
For ISM radio frequency applications defined in the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Radio Regulations (2020) (see 3.1.18), this document covers the emission requirements for radio frequency interference in the frequency range of 9 kHz to 18 GHz.
ISM equipment with radio transmission/reception functions (host devices with radio functionality) is also within the scope of this document, as described in Appendix F. However, the emission requirements specified in this document do not apply to intentional transmissions generated by radio transmitters defined by the ITU, nor do they apply to spurious emissions associated with these intentional transmissions.
Note 1: This exemption applies only to intentional transmissions generated by radio transmitters. However, combined emissions resulting from, for example, mutual induction between radio and non-radio components of ISM equipment also fall within the requirements of this document.
Note 2: The emission requirements for induction cookers are specified in GB 4343.1.
This document also applies to ISM radio frequency lighting equipment and ultraviolet irradiation equipment within the ISM frequency bands defined by the ITU Radio Regulations.
This document also applies to robots for industrial, scientific, and medical applications.
