Abstract
Addition: This dedicated standard applies to the safety of ventilators (as defined in 2.1.125). This dedicated standard does not apply to continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices, sleep apnea treatment devices, enhanced ventilators, anesthesia ventilators, emergency ventilators, high-frequency jet ventilators, and high-frequency oscillatory ventilators, nor does it include equipment used in hospitals solely for increasing the amount of ventilation for patients.
