Abstract
This standard specifies the method for determining the content of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol in food simulants.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol in four food simulants, namely water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution, 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution, and olive oil.
The lower limits for the determination of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol in three water-based food simulants, namely water, 3% (mass concentration) acetic acid solution, and 10% (volume fraction) ethanol solution, are all 3 mg/L; the lower limits for the determination of ethylene glycol and diethylene glycol in olive oil are all 3 mg/kg.
