This document specifies the format, process, and algorithms used to protect XML files used within the IEC scope, as well as files in other fields (such as IEEE, patents, etc.). If secure exchange is required, this document is intended to be referenced by standards, unless an agreement has been reached between the parties to use other recognized secure exchange mechanisms.
This document uses W3C standards to achieve the security of XML files and provides an introduction to these standards and other extensions. This document provides the following provisions for the extended part.
——Header (Information Header): The header contains information related to the created and saved files, such as the date and time of creating the XML file of IEC 62351-11.
——The original XML file can be encrypted or unencrypted. If encryption is selected, a mechanism will be provided to represent the information needed to perform encryption in an interoperable manner.
——AccessControl (Access Control): A mechanism that represents the access control information related to the information contained in the original XML file.
——Body (Body): Used to contain the original XML file to be encapsulated.
——Signature (Signature): A signature that can be used for authentication and tampering detection.
