Abstract
This part of GB/T 20257 specifies the symbols, annotations, and color standards for various landforms and geomorphological elements shown on 1:250,000, 1:500,000, and 1:1,000,000 topographic maps, as well as the specifications for map layout and the principles, requirements, and basic methods for using these symbols. This part applies to the preparation of 1:250,000, 1:500,000, and 1:1,000,000 topographic maps, and also serves as the basic reference for departments to use topographic maps for planning and design, decision-making and management, and scientific research. The geographic base maps for preparing other types of maps can be used as a reference.
