The following content replaces the corresponding chapter of GB/T 4706.1-2024:
This document specifies the safety requirements for indoor heaters for household and similar purposes.
This document applies to indoor heaters for household and similar purposes, with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances; and a rated voltage of not more than 480 V for other appliances.
Note 101: Examples of appliances within the scope of this document:
—— Convection heaters;
—— Fan heaters;
—— Heaters used in greenhouses;
—— Liquid-filled radiators;
—— Panel heaters;
—— Radiant heaters;
—— Tubular heaters;
—— Ceiling-mounted lamp heaters;
—— Vehicle heaters.
This document also covers the safety of electric heaters used for heating the driver's cab and passenger compartment of motor vehicles when they are stationary, with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V.
For exhaust fans in ceiling-mounted lamp heaters, IEC 60335-2-80 applies under reasonable circumstances.
Appliances that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a danger to the public, such as indoor heaters intended for use by non-professionals in stores, light industrial sites, and farms, also fall within the scope of this document.
This document addresses the common hazards posed by appliances encountered by all individuals in and around residential areas. However, this document generally does not consider the following situations:
