This document specifies the management configuration files for autonomous, component, and abstract configuration files of host-based storage devices. The autonomous configuration file describes the management of independent storage entities based on the host; the component configuration file (or sub-configuration file) describes the management of storage entities based on the host that can be used by other autonomous configuration files; and the abstract configuration file described in this document can be used as the basis for creating other host-based autonomous configuration files.
The autonomous configuration files included in this document are:
——Host resource discovery configuration file. This configuration file specifies the model of storage devices displayed to the operating system running on the host system. In addition, this configuration file also describes the storage mapping associated with the host system that can be discovered by client applications;
——Fibre Channel HBA configuration file. This configuration file specifies the model and functions of the Fibre Channel HBA that exports block storage from SAN devices (Fibre Channel switches, arrays, tape libraries, etc.) to the host system;
——iSCSI initiator sub-configuration file. This configuration file specifies the necessary models and functions for managing iSCSI initiators.
The component configuration files use autonomous configuration files to describe various aspects of host-based storage elements and services. The component configuration files (sub-configuration files) specified in this document include:
——Host hardware RAID controller configuration file. This configuration file specifies the model and functions of the RAID controller based on the host that exports block storage from locally connected storage devices (internal hard drives, JBODs, etc.) to the host system;
——Storage HBA configuration file. This configuration file specifies the model and f
