This document specifies the technical requirements for the design, testing, installation, and maintenance of Poweri equipment and systems that use electronic control of spark timers to maintain an intrinsically safe level.
This document applies to intrinsically safe Poweri equipment used in explosive environments, as well as associated equipment connected to intrinsically safe circuits entering explosive environments, and the connecting wires and cables between them.
This document applies to electrical equipment with a voltage not exceeding 40 V DC and a safety factor of 1.5 in Classes IIB, IIA, I, and III; it also applies to Class IIC "ic" equipment with a safety factor of 1.0 and Class IIC "ib" equipment with a voltage not exceeding 32 V DC and a safety factor of 1.5.
This explosion-proof type is suitable for electrical equipment whose circuits themselves cannot ignite the surrounding explosive environments.
This document applies to intrinsically safe equipment and systems that provide high-power power supplies while maintaining a safe level using electronic control of spark timers.
This document also applies to electrical equipment or electrical equipment components located outside hazardous areas or protected by other explosion-proof types listed in GB/T 3836 (all parts), where the intrinsic safety of circuits located in explosive environments depends on the design and structure of such electrical equipment or electrical equipment components. Circuits located in hazardous areas are evaluated in accordance with this document.
This document does not apply to "ia"-rated circuits and software-controlled circuits.
This document supplements and modifies GB/T 3836.1, GB/T 3836.4, GB/T 3836.15, GB/T 3836.16, and GB/T 3836.18.
