1.1GB 24803 of this part
—— Establishes the basic safety requirements for elevators, elevator components, and elevator functions;
—— Establishes a system and provides methods to reduce the safety risks that may arise during the use or operation of elevators.
1.2 This part applies to passenger elevators, which can be:
a) installed in any permanent and fixed structures or buildings, except for those installed in the following places:
1) private residences (single-family); and
2) on transportation equipment, such as: ships.
