GB/T 3810.3-2016 Test method of ceramic tiles—Part 3:Determination of water absorption, apparent porosity,apparent relative density and bulk density
Abstract
This part of GB/T 3810 specifies the determination methods for the water absorption, apparent porosity, apparent relative density, and bulk density of ceramic tiles. There are two methods for measuring the open-pore water absorption of samples: boiling and vacuum soaking. The boiling method allows water to easily penetrate into open pores; the vacuum method fills the open pores with water. The boiling method is suitable for ceramic tile classification and product description, while the vacuum method is suitable for measuring apparent porosity, apparent relative density, and water absorption (except for classification).
