Abstract
This part concerns the safety of electrical appliances for household and similar purposes, equipped with emitters that radiate ultraviolet and infrared rays to the skin, with a rated voltage of not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and not more than 480 V for other appliances. Appliances that are not intended for general household use but may still pose a danger to the public, such as those intended for use in tanning salons, beauty salons, and similar places, also fall within the scope of this part. In practical terms, the common hazards associated with the various appliances covered by this part are ones that all people in and around residential areas may encounter.
