GB/T 1001.1-2021 Active

This document defines the terms and characteristics of porcelain or glass insulators used in overhead lines (hereinafter referred to as insulators), and stipulates the conditions for testing the specified values of their characteristics, as well as the testing methods and judgment criteria.
This document applies to porcelain and glass insulators used in AC overhead power and traction lines with a nominal voltage of more than 1,000 V and a frequency of no more than 100 Hz, as well as insulators used in DC overhead power and traction lines.
This document also applies to the definition, testing methods, and judgment criteria of insulator string elements, rigid insulators used in overhead lines, and similar structures of insulators used in substations.
This document does not apply to insulators that constitute electrical components or components in electrical structures, nor to the definition, testing methods, and judgment criteria of pillar insulators included in GB/T 8287 (all parts).
The testing methods (such as wet operation impulse voltage) and acceptance criteria for insulator strings and insulator groups are discussed in GB/T 1001.2—2010.
Note 1: This document does not include artificial pollution tests, the testing methods of which are discussed in GB/T 4585—2004.
This document does not include requirements for selecting insulators according to specific operating conditions.

The characteristic values of insulators are specified in the corresponding product standards.
