This document applies to the safety of electric autonomous floor cleaning machines intended for indoor commercial use, involving the following applications of the floor:
—— Sweeping;
—— Mopping;
—— Wet or dry dusting;
—— Polishing;
—— Use of waxing, sealing products, and powdered detergents;
—— Washing solution cleaning.
In addition to the applicable requirements in IEC 60335-2-72, the requirements in this document apply to commercial floor cleaning machines.
For autonomous floor cleaning machines specifically designed for wet or dry vacuuming, the additional or modified requirements of IEC 60335-2-69 apply.
The machines covered by this document can operate in either automatic or manual mode.
For autonomous floor cleaning machines without a manual mode, the modified requirements are given in Appendix FF of this document.
The autonomous floor cleaning machines covered by this document are designed to avoid dangerous contact with people in the application environment. It should be noted that commercial autonomous floor cleaning machines may need to operate in environments very close to large crowds, such as shopping malls and schools.
In this document, "machine" refers to autonomous floor cleaning machines.
