This document specifies the definitions, symbols, and explanations of tensile testing of metal materials, the principles, the specimens and their size measurement, the testing equipment, the testing requirements, the performance determination, the rounding of the measured values, and the test reports.
This document is applicable to the determination of the tensile properties of metal materials at room temperature.
Note: Appendix C provides additional recommendations for computer-controlled testing machines.
