Abstract
This part of GB/T 17215.6 specifies the use cases of smart metering and related information of its system, which is supported by the IEC 62056 DLMS/COSEM series of standards and prescribes the data exchange of electricity meters. The standardization framework described in this part includes:
—— The relevant principles for formulating these standards;
—— Methods of expanding existing standards to support new use cases and compatible new communication technologies, while maintaining consistency with existing standards;
—— Aspects related to interoperability and information security.
This part also provides guidance on selecting appropriate standards for specific interfaces within smart metering systems.
Other measurement aspects covered by IEC TC 13, such as metering requirements, testing, safety, and reliability, are not within the scope of this part.
