This standard specifies the methods for monitoring the actual working conditions of cranes during long-term use, and also stipulates the methods for comparing with the initial design work tasks determined by grading (the relevant design standards are specified in ISO 43011). The closer the actual working conditions are to the design life limit, the greater the likelihood of danger. The crane usage monitoring methods specified in this standard are used to predict whether the crane is approaching the design life limit and to focus on special inspections of key parts of the crane. This standard is mainly used to adjust or modify the inspection requirements specified in ISO 99271. This standard applies to cranes with permanent structures throughout their lifespan. This standard does not apply to mobile and tower cranes, except for permanently installed tower cranes. Note: The methods specified in this standard are not only adopted by ISO 43011, which specifies the grading, but also by other standards or regulations.
