This document specifies the safety requirements for fuel cell power generation systems used in electrically driven industrial vehicles. This document applies to electrically driven industrial vehicles equipped with gaseous hydrogen fuel cell power generation systems and direct methanol fuel cell power generation systems. This document applies to fuel cell-driven industrial vehicles used for handling, pushing, pulling, lifting, stacking, or palletizing various goods, such as forklifts, single-bucket loaders, etc. This document applies to fuel cell power generation systems defined in Figure 3 and Figure 1. This document applies to DC-type fuel cell power generation systems used indoors and outdoors with a rated output voltage not exceeding 150 V. The fuel cell power generation systems covered by this document have fuel source containers permanently attached to the industrial vehicles or fuel cell power generation systems. The following fuels are considered within the scope of this document: -- Gaseous hydrogen; -- Methanol. The following are not included within the scope of this document: -- Removable fuel source containers; -- Hybrid industrial vehicles equipped with internal combustion engines; -- Fuel cell power generation systems with reformers; -- Fuel cell power generation systems intended for operation in potentially explosive environments; -- Liquid hydrogen-based fuel storage systems.
