1.1 This document specifies the general technical requirements for shell boilers, including their scope, rated parameters, design and calculation, manufacturing and inspection, installation and operation, performance testing, energy conservation, and environmental protection.
1.2 This document applies to fixed shell boilers within the following scope:
a) Steam boilers with a rated steam pressure of greater than or equal to 0.1 MPa;
b) Hot water boilers with a rated water outlet pressure of greater than or equal to 0.1 MPa and a rated thermal power of greater than or equal to 0.1 MW.
1.3 Cross-flow boilers and waste heat boilers that include shell boiler components shall comply with this document.
1.4 This document does not apply to the following equipment:
a) Mobile shell boilers;
b) Cooling devices designed to meet the cooling needs of equipment and process flows.
1.5 Fixed shell boilers with a rated pressure of less than 0.1 MPa may refer to this document for guidance.
