Abstract
This standard establishes a common framework for describing the life cycle of artificial systems. It defines a set of processes and related terms. These processes can be applied to all levels of system architecture. Throughout the life cycle, the selected set of processes can be used to manage and implement each phase of the system's life cycle. This is accomplished through the participation of all parties involved with the system, with the ultimate goal of achieving customer satisfaction.
