This standard specifies the terms used in the fields of machine and mechanism structure, kinematics, dynamics, machine control and measurement, robotics, and mechatronics. This standard is applicable to mechanism and machine science, mechanical principles, mechanical design, testing technology, control theory, robotics, and mechanical electronics, and is intended for use in the preparation of standards and guidance documents, as well as in the compilation and translation of teaching materials, books, product manuals, and other publications. In the terminology of this standard, all permissible English synonyms are separated by semicolons, and the English abbreviations are given in parentheses. Permissible Chinese synonyms (generally corresponding to English terms) are provided separately. A small number of Chinese synonyms given in Songti font should be avoided.
