Abstract
This part of GB/T 5169 aims to provide a general guide for product committees, covering the following aspects:
● Principles and usage instructions of fire safety engineering;
● Guidelines for the application of fire safety engineering in the design of electrical and electronic products;
● Terminology and concepts of fire safety engineering;
● Performance, data, and test guidelines required for fire safety engineering assessments;
● References.
This part is not intended as a detailed technical design guide, but rather to provide product committees with guidance on fire safety engineering methods and performance-based testing information for use in performance-based design and the assessment of fire hazards in electrical materials, components, finished products, and systems. For more information on fire safety engineering, please refer to the ISO/TR 13387 series of standards (see Chapter 2 and references [1-6]) and ISO 23932.
