This document specifies the selection, use, and maintenance of respiratory protective equipment, as well as respiratory protection plans and the determination of equipment obsolescence and replacement.
This document applies to respiratory protective equipment used to prevent harm to human health caused by oxygen deficiency and/or air pollutants in workplaces.
This document does not apply to respiratory protective equipment used in underwater operations, aviation, or medical rescue situations.
