This part of GB/T 26237 specifies an exchange format for DNA typing data.
This part is applicable to the exchange of DNA typing data used for individual identification using human DNA.
This part is not applicable for any other purposes, especially the exchange of medical and other health-related information.
This part will enable the exchange or mutual comparison of DNA typing data and genome sequencing data, including the output of compatible DNA typing data and genome sequencing data by any other system that follows the data format of this part in accordance with relevant privacy protection regulations.
This part covers forensic DNA typing technology, next-generation sequencing technology, or other genetic marker analysis based on short tandem repeats (STRs), including autosomes, X chromosomes, Y chromosomes), mitochondrial DNA, single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), etc.
A single DNA typing data record for an object may require data generated by multiple DNA analysis techniques. This part ensures that the data generated by multiple DNA analysis techniques for an object can be integrated into a single record.
This data format is designed to reduce manual involvement in the DNA processing process (registration and comparison). To enable the automation and intelligence of DNA technology for data exchange formats, this part simultaneously describes the recording formats of raw data and typing data. Extensible Markup Language (XML) encoding is used to specify the exchange of DNA typing data in detail. Appendix A provides a standard XML schema (XSD).
