GB/T 12406-2008 Codes for the representation of currencies and funds
Abstract
This standard provides a three-character code structure for representing currencies and funds, as well as a corresponding three-digit code structure. For currencies with auxiliary units, the decimal relationship between the auxiliary units and the base currency is also provided. This standard also establishes maintenance procedures for maintaining institutions and specifies the method of applying for codes. This standard applies to all areas of trade, commerce, and banking that require the description of currencies and funds. It is not only applicable to manual processing but also to automated processing systems.
