Abstract

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, marking, packaging, storage and transportation, and sampling of food-grade paraffin.
This standard applies to food-grade paraffin obtained from oil-containing wax as raw material, through sweating or solvent degumming, and then hydrogenation refining or bentonite refining. It is divided into food-grade paraffin and food-grade packaging paraffin according to its application.
Food-grade paraffin is suitable for demoulding, tabletting, polishing, and other waxes that directly contact with food and drugs, as well as additives for food.
Food-grade packaging paraffin is suitable for waxes used for impregnating containers and packaging materials that come into contact with food, as well as waxes used for sealing and coating drugs.
