This standard specifies the classification and grading standards and definitions for China's coalbed methane resources/reserves, the methods of reserve estimation, the evaluation standards for reserves, and the requirements for preparing reserve reports.
This standard applies to the estimation and reporting of coalbed methane resources/reserves during surface exploration and mining; it can be used as a basis for the management of coalbed methane resources/reserves, the review of resource/reserve estimates in mining economic activities, and the preparation of development plans and medium- and long-term plans. The estimation and reporting of coalbed methane resources/reserves in regional surveys, resource evaluations, or other exploration and mining methods can be carried out with reference to this standard.
