This standard specifies the detailed content related to sample preparation that should be included in the performance test report. This standard provides the general principles for designing and preparing molds for sample preparation. In order to prepare samples in a reproducible manner, this standard discusses the basic conditions involved in ensuring comparable sample preparation for test results. This standard applies to thermosetting powder molding compounds (PMCs) based on phenolic resins, amino resins, melamine/phenolic resins, epoxy resins, and unsaturated polyester resins. Due to the components, fluidity, or other variable factors of certain molding compounds, it may be necessary to prepare samples according to specified methods. In such cases, consensus among all parties is required, and this should be noted in the molding report.
